Micro Assets vs Side Hustle: What’s the difference?

I originally wanted to name this blog 100SideHustles(dot)com.

But, that domain name was already taken.

Also, something kept me from using the ‘side hustle’ in my project. Something like an internal friction.

I felt like asking myself questions like –

  • Do I really want to build side hustles?
  • Is building 100 side hustles really possible?

It was critical that I had good enough answers to these questions before I start. Because, those answers would guide my work here.

However, the one thing that I was absolutely certain about was …

I won’t build another side hustle blog

Why? Let me explain.

Side hustles are easy to launch, but (very) hard to maintain. They need constant monitoring and involvement of the creator to run.

Take the examples of (historically) most successful side hustles –

  1. Creating videos on YouTube/TikTok
  2. Running a podcast
  3. Working as freelance developer/designer.

All these need you to plan, execute, get feedback, iterate and measure progress on a regular basis.

This is justified if you’re aiming to build a 7–8 figure business.

My goal is totally different.

I want to build a portfolio of 3–4 figure one-person businesses

Businesses that require very little daily input from me.

Basically, they run themselves to generate 3-4 figure MRR with occasional help from my side.

Are you thinking – is it possible?

Yes.

I’m 100% sure that it is and I’ll show you how. You just need to look at different places where most people are looking.

That is why I chose the phrase “micro assets” instead of “side hustle”.

Because…

Print that line and paste on your desk wall and wait for my next article where I’ll explain my first project.
